Latest Harris vs. Trump polls: Who is leading across the ‘blue wall’ states?

The latest batch of polling from CNN showed close races between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump across the “blue wall” states as the two candidates barrel toward Election Day.
The CNN polls, released Wednesday and conducted by SSRS, found that Harris has slight leads in Michigan and Wisconsin while she is tied with Trump in Pennsylvania. The three states make up the so-called ‘blue wall’ that represents the clearest path to an Electoral College victory for Democrats.
The poll found that Harris has a 5-point lead over Trump in Michigan. She has 48 percent of support among likely voters in the state while Trump has 43 percent of support. Three percent said they will support Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who dropped out of the race in August to endorse Trump. Two percent said they’ll support Green Party’s Jill Stein and 1 percent said they will support independent candidate Cornel West.
The Michigan poll also showed that 6 percent of voters said their minds could still be changed on who to vote for. The poll was conducted Oct. 23-28 among 726 registered voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.7 percentage points among likely voters.
In Wisconsin, Harris has a 6-point lead over the former president. Fifty-one percent of likely said they will support the Harris-Walz ticket while 45 percent said they are backing the Trump-Vance ticket. Other candidates received no more than one percent of support in the Wisconsin poll.
The poll in Wisconsin also showed that there is some room for movement. Five percent of likely voters who picked a candidate said they might still change their mind about who to vote for. The poll was conducted among 736 registered voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.8 percentage points among likely voters.
Meanwhile, the two candidates are deadlocked in the must-win state of Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania poll found that both Harris and Trump received 48 percent of support among likely voters. Other candidates received no more than one percent of support. The poll found that there is still some chance of movement in the race, with 6 percent of voters who picked a candidate saying they might still change their mind.
The poll was conducted among 819 registered voters in the state and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.7 percentage points.
The new swing state surveys come as Harris and Trump are tied in many national polls. However, the races at the state level will determine the winner of the Electoral College. Harris’s clearest path to victory remains winning the “blue wall” states, all of which now-President Biden carried in 2020. In 2016, Trump clinched the “blue wall” over Hillary Clinton.
